A Cookbook Fan Forever (Part 2)

Hi! If you read part 1 and were then wondering what cookbooks I use, wonder no more! Here are the ones currently in my cabinet, linked to a webpage where you can easily buy them! I will try to add to this list as my collection grows, but for now, I hope you find one you love!

Eat Your Heart Out by Daphne Oz : This was a gift from my mother-in-law and something I probably would not have bought on my own. That being said, I really love this book. There are so many unique, imaginative, easy every-day lunch/dinner recipes in this book, plus some yummy desserts and smoothies. It has become a staple in our house.

The Beauty Chef by Carla Oates : This book is amazing. The recipes are delicious, make you feel good about what they are doing for your body, and very unique. Carla is Australian, so her flavors are different than what we typically eat in the U.S., but in the best way! Just be sure to read her note on Australian tablespoons vs. American tablespoons!

The Beauty Chef Gut Guide by Carla Oates: This book is also by Carla, who struggled with severe skin issues until she changed he diet and healed her gut. This book can be used as a normal cookbook, or an adaptable gut-healing plan to get you back on track. I have used it both ways, and love it for recipes that have become go-to’s in our home.

Vibrant and Pure by Adeline Waugh : This book is so fun! Adeline likes to play with her food, create with her food and is an amazing food photographer. While I might not be making pink cashew milk anytime soon, I have fallen head-over-heals for her minty chocolate smoothie and squash “mac and cheese”.

True Roots by Kristin Cavallari: This book was one of the first ones I got. It is simple, but it also challenges us to use ingredients (especially meats) that we didn’t typically eat. Her golden milk recipe is AMAZING and I tell all my friends they have to try it- I make it with generous amounts of spices in my house!

Sweet Laurel by Laurel Gallucci and Claire Thomas : I found this book at the beginning of my grain struggles. I fell in love with the beautiful cover and pictures, and then even more in love with all the delicious baked goods. They are grain-free bakery masters and even though I can’t eat almonds, I substitute almond flour with cashew flour and it works just as good!

Sweet Laurel Savory by Laurel Gallucci and Claire Thomas: This is their newer book, focused on savory baker goods, but also with some great comfort food recipes. Their falafel wraps have no beans/legumes in them and are TO DIE FOR. It is surprising full of recipes I somehow don’t have anywhere else.

Against All Grain by Danielle Walker : This was my first post-elimination diet cookbook. I was struggling on Pinterest, I was sad about food, and then I found Danielle Walker. She gave me back every meal I was missing, in a way that made me feel good, and literally changed my life.

Against All Grain: Meals Made Simple by Danielle Walker: This is her second book, and again is full of even more recipes that give you a version of literally any meal you have been missing. She does paleo (grain, legume, dairy, refined sugar- free) in such an accessible way.

Eat what You Love by Danielle Walker: This book has great comfort foods, and lunch ideas. Her butter chicken with garlic naan recipe is a constant staple in our house- I cannot get enough! Danielle has severe, debilitating Ulcerative Colitis, and by changing her diet she was able to put it in remission!

Against all Grain: Celebrations by Danielle Walker: This book again, filled a gap in my life that was making me sad. She has full breakfast- dessert meal plans for EVERY holiday you could possibly think of. I could finally enjoy Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holidays with food like everyone else.

Paleo Cookbook by Juli Bauer: I found this book at a used book store and was so excited. While Juli doesn’t struggle with any health issues, she does have a way with food and a great sense of humor. Her recipes are simple, filling and delicious. What more could you ask for?
